Strawberry Banana War
Like a banana pudding on steroids
4 -5 fresh bananas
Two cups sliced fresh strawberries
2 pk instant banana pudding
2 pk instant vanilla pudding
8 cups milk (or amount required for by the pudding mix)
3 tbsp Strawberry milk flavoring mix
1 lb sliced lemon cake
1 container non-dairy whipped topping (Or make fresh whipped cream)

I invented this recipe so I could have a fun desert my two boys could help make. I station them one to either side with the pudding and I set in the slices of fruit and cake. I get them all excited with the haste of it all since you really do need to add the pudding layers before it sets…we make a mess and the desert is great fun to make. Everything comes to a quiet calm as we cover it with a peaceful field of white whipped cream. The clear bowl is used to show off the bright red and yellow and white colors of the dessert.

Both my boys are grown men and still, every time they come to visit us, they insist on the three of us making Strawberry Banana War!

In a large clear glass or plastic bowl, line the bottom and sides with lemon cake slices
Prepare the two puddings according to directions (a helper is good since you will need to mix all ingredients before the puddings set.)Use the stwaberry milk mix for the vanilla pudding to add color and flavor.
Add a layer of sliced strawberries
pour in a thin layer of banana pudding
Add a layer of banana slices
Pour in a layer of Strawberry pudding
Add in a layer of sliced strawberries and a few slices of lemon cake
Continue layering pudding, bananas, cake, and strawberries
Work fast, the randomness of the layering is good.
Top off with a complete layer of pudding (either flavor or both what ever is left)
Cover with whipped topping or whipped cream.
Be sure all fruit is completely covered to protect from air.

Refrigerate to set the pudding…serve
