Post subject:  hmmmmm what makes a great meal ??

From the points Reckless has posted I ought to have had a better experience with my 30$ US but stuff happens I guess. So let's leave that be, unless anyone has actually been to Aureole in N.Y.

In my opinion a great meal is a meal that is nicely presented (visually), smells nice, and tastes great. The great taste is off course individual, but to me it needs to be new, interesting and preferably something I could not have done as well my self! But before anything else - honest! If a burger is presented as a burger, the ingredients are fresh and of high quality, and the price is right it is what I call honest food!

When I took my first cooking course one of the first things taught WAS presentation. When they say you eat with your eyes it is true. As for what you said it is quite true, that being taste is in the mouth of the beholder. If you like something, no matter if it is from a lousy little corner greasy spoon ,or a fancy restaurant,if you like it that is the most important thing. I am a bit like you when it comes to price as well. I don't mind paying the price so long as I enjoyed it. And as they say that's the bottom line.
