What makes it different from 'regular' cake?
I am not a cake baker - other than a few scratch cakes I make them from a box.

My mother has made wedding cakes for people for years.. I know that hers start with a box mix. It's amazing tho... mine sure never taste like hers... and the frosting is awesome too. I know she adds something to the box.. or at least I think she does.. She's about to retire and give it up.. people are going to miss her... She's baked so many for so long. I guess if you needed more information I might be able to talk her into coming into the message board and helping you.. or maybe she can by email?

Thanks Joy,

But the FI said we are definitely ordering the cake from a bakery! Actually a sigh of relief, as I was sure it was just going to be one big stress point I didn't need.
