Hi all,

A message from over the pond....

Many of your recipes merely say High or Low (Oven Temp)

What is high and low to you??

We use Gas Mark's or Degrees

Ta, Mark

BTW > Great site itn't it :P

Post subject:  OVEN TEMPERATURES

USUALLY WHEN WE SAY A LOW OVEN IT IS 225°F A MEDIUM OVEN IS 325°F AND A HIGH OVEN IS 400-425°F. HOPE THIS HELPS YOU OUT. USUALLY THE DEGREES OF THE OVEN ARE MARKED AT THE BEGINNING OF MOST RECIPES.

I have done a little homework on this and have come up with the following:
gas mark 3 = 160 degrees C or 320 degrees F
gas mark 4 = 180 degrees C or 350 degrees F
gas mark 5 = 190 degrees C or 375 degrees F
gas mark 6 = 200 degrees C or 400 degrees F
gas mark 7 = 220 degrees C or 425 degrees F
I hope that this will make things a little clearer to understand when you read our recipes.
