Easy way to freshen your fridge by removing odors. Microwave until boiling 1/2 cup white vinegar. Place in fridge and a couple of hours later the smells have vanished like magic. Let me know how it worked. |

Sounds interesting - will have to try it but am wondering, have you tried this at all? That vinegar smell bother me a bit when I clean my coffee pot, but it sure can work wonders, so on a nice warm day when I can open the windows, I plan to try this. However, today it's raining and cold with no end in site. Anyone else try this yet? Tx! |

I have used this method many times and it does not leave a vinegar smell. All it does is remove the odors from the fridge. It really works. |

Sometimes you get odors in your fridge from smelly cheese or perhaps you forgot something in there and it started to turn. The fridge isn't dirty but it just smells and this is a way to freshen it up. I personally clean my fridge three times per year. |

Years back we had a fridge in storage at a relatives... We told them they could use it while they were keeping it for us.. Well somehow the fridge became unplugged and it had meat and fruit stored inside.. It was left unplugged for weeks... It was discovered the weekend we were coming to get it. We tried everything.. vinegar, charcoal, other cleaning methods and solutions.. no matter what we tried, our new fridge had a horrid odor.. Then someone told me to crumple up old newspapers and stuff it full with them, but not to pack it. Then turn it on and let it run for a day or two. They said I might have to do this twice, since this was really bad. But after two days and one try, I took the newspapers out of the fridge... They smelled SO bad I had to take them right outside.. but when we sniffed inside the fridge... you couldn't smell a thing.. We had this fridge and used it for another 20 years! The newspaper worked wonders.. I also tried this in a cooler that had gotten left out in the hot sun.. it worked wonders on that too. No more odors! |
