Has anyone out there ever had this problem while making bagels? My recipe says to boil the bagels for 5 minutes before baking them. When I do this, they turn into bagel prunes after I take them out of the water! I used to use another recipe that called for broiling the bagels for a few minutes, then boiling and then baking, and the same thing happened then! I am very frustrated. Thanks for anyone's help!

Hi. Any recipe for bagels that I've ever seen has only called for the bagels to be in the boiling water for about 30 seconds. (I think 5 minutes is way too long.) Give that a try. Good luck!
