Hi y'all. Just bought a crockpot and am delighted with it so far, but wish I had some more recipes to try. The leaner the better...but I'd be glad to get anything you might have! Thanks so much! ~elizzzy~

My favourite, because it tastes great and is sooooooooo easy is for BBQ ribs. Cut up pork sides ribs, add to pot, add a cup or so of bottled BBQ sauce. Cook on low for about 7 hours.

When I saw your post, I had to join so I could reply. I am a member at a different Recipe Club on the net and just posted a request a lot like yours. I am 19 weeks pregnant and wanting to rely on my crockpot as much as possible, so I too am on the hunt for tried and true crockpot recipes, however I come here with a couple of my own.

Here are couple of my favorites...

Crockpot Mostaccoli-this is actually cooking in my crockpot right now

1 beef roast
1 jar Prego (or which ever type spaghetti sauce you like)
3 cans tomato sauce (8 oz)
1 tsp basil
1/2 tsp Italian sesoning

Let cook 8-10 hours on low. Serve over mostaccoli (sp?) noodles with salad and garlic bread.

I also love this recipe...
Picante Pot Roast

3 1/2 pounds Pound pot roast
1 tablespoon Vegetable oil
2 Onions -- cut wedges
8 ounces Can tomato sauce
1 cup Picante sauce
1 1/4 teaspoons Ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon Organo leaves
2 Garlic cloves -- mince
1 Green pepper -- coarse chop
Put green pepper and onion in first then add everything else. Let cook on low 8-10 hours. I like to serve this shredded on torillas with cheese. I really only use the meat not the juices in the bottom of the crock.

Also making beef stew is very easy in the crockpot. I just buy a lean roast and have the butcher cut it up for stew meat (I don't like the way the stew meat that is already cut up it looks too fatty) and get a package of stew seasoning. I cut up some potatoes and carrots and add them to the crockpot first along with a bag of frozen vegetables (corn, green beans, and lima beans) then I put in the meat. In a cup I mix the seasoning with warm water and then dump it over everything. Cook on low for 8-10 hours and you have a very easy dinner.

Thank you so much for the messages. I've gotten a few responses but none that I've tried yet. I appreciate the link, too, I'll be sure to go and look! Good luck with your pregnancy (I remember those daze...lol) and have a very Merry Christmas! ((hugz)) elizzzy
