Basil Cheese Ball

8oz. Monterey Jack cheese, finely shredded (about 2 cups) 1 8oz. pkg. cream cheese, softened 2 Tbls. milk 2 tsp. dried basil leaves 1/4 tsp. salt 1/8 tsp. garlic powder 1/4 cup finely chopped fresh parsley 1/4 cup chopped pecans or pine nuts Wheat or unsalted crackers

In a small mixer bowl at medium speed, beat cheeses, milk, basil, salt, and garlic powder until well blended.
With moistened hands, shape cheese mixture into a ball. Wrap in plastic wrap and chill 1 hour. (If making ahead, remove from refrigerator about 1/2 hour before serving.)
Just before serving, unwrap cheese ball. Stir together parsley and nuts in a shallow dish. Roll cheese ball in mixture; Place on a serving plate. Serve with a knife and crackers.
