|
|
5-6 pound brisket of beef 3 garlic cloves 1 small onion - halved 2 Tbls. lemon juice 1/4 cup dry red wine 1/2 cup vegetable oil 1/4 cup honey 1/4 cup cola (not diet) 3 Tbls. ketchup 1 Tbls. salt 1/4 tsp. black pepper 1 tsp. paprika
|
Place brisket in a roasting pan,fat side up.
In a food processor add the garlic and onion and process until minced.
Add remaining ingredients and process about 10 seconds.
Pour over entire surface of meat and let marinate at room temperature for 3 hours or overnight in the fridge.
Cover pan tightly with foil and bake at 300 degrees F. for four hours until meat is very tender.
Remove meat, let it cool, slice into approx. 1/4 inch slices.
Put gravy into fridge and allow excess fat to congeal at the top and then remove the excess fat.
Put sliced meat back into pan and cover with gravy and then reheat in oven.
I serve this dish with mashed potatoes to soak up the great gravy. Bon Appetit!
