STARTER 1 pkg. active dry yeast 1 cup milk 1 cup flour 1 cup sugar
Recipe: 2 cups all-purpose flour 1 pkg. vanilla instant pudding (or your favorite kind) 1 1/4 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1 cup starter 1 cup sugar 2/3 cup vegetable oil 1/4 cup milk 3 eggs 1 tsp. vanilla extract

STARTER INSTRUCTIONS Do NOT use Metal Bowls or spoons and do NOT refrigerate!
DAY 1 of STARTER Dissolve yeast in small amount of warm water. Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl because this batter will grow.
DAY 2, 3, and 4 Stir with wooden spoon!
DAY 5 Add 1 cup flour, 1 cup sugar, 1 cup milk. Stir with wooden spoon
DAY 6, 7, and 8 Stir with a wooden spoon.
DAY 9 Do nothing
Day 10 Add 1 cup sugar, 1 cup flour and 1 cup milk. Stir. Pour 1 cup of starter into each of 3 large Mason Jars.
Give 2 containers to friends and include this and the following recipe. Keep 1 cup for yourself.
BREAD RECIPE Whisk together in a medium bowl: flour, pudding mix, baking powder, cinnamon, salt and baking soda. Set aside.
In a large bowl combine remaining ingredients, mixing well.
Stir in the flour mixture a little bit at a time. Do not over mix. Just mix until the wet and dry ingredients are blended.
Pour into two 9x13 inch loaf pans.
Bake at 350 degrees F. for about 50 - 70 minutes.
Try experimenting with different things such as pudding mixes, fruit, nuts, chocolate chips, etc.
This is a great recipe for churches and Christmas!
You can freeze the starter in one cup portions. It will take about 3 hours at room temperature to thaw.
Make sure you punch a hole in it at the top of the mason jar lid, or the gases will not escape and may pop the top off the jar.
