Apple and Sausage Cornbread Stuffing
Best Homemade Stuffing Ever!
2 8 1/2oz. packages corn muffin mix
1 lb. pork sausage links, chopped
1 granny smith apple, chopped
1/2 lb. fresh mushrooms
1 cup celery, chopped
1 cup onion, chopped finely
2 cloves garlic
1/2 cup water
8 slices white bread, cut into cubes

 

Prepare corn muffin mix according to package directions. Cool and crumble.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Place sausage in skillet. Cook over medium heat until browned. Drain. Slowly cook and stir mushrooms, celery, onion and garlic.

In a bowl mix apple and bread.

Place all ingredients in baking dish and add water.

Bake 45 minutes until lightly browned.
