1 pkg. dry yeast 1 cup milk 1/2 cup butter 1 tsp. salt 1/2 cup sugar 3 eggs 4 cups flour
|
Dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup lukewarm water, plus 1 teaspoon sugar. Let rise. Scald milk. Add butter, salt, sugar and eggs. Add yeast and mix all together. Add flour. Stir and place in refrigerator overnight. Take out of refrigerator next morning and allow to finish rising, then stir down and put some dough on an oiled bread board. Shape dough into balls like for buns. Brush with melted butter and cover with thin cloth. Allow to raise until double in size. Make depressions with finger and fill with favorite fruit filling. Bake at 400 degrees F. about 12 minutes. When taken from oven, again brush with melted butter. Cover pan with a cloth, leaving one corner uncovered for about 10 minutes.
