Teds Camping Cups Edible Cups for Chili, Stew, etc. |
|
|
Your favorite drop biscuit recipe or use one of the many brands of baking mix Non-stick cooking spray clean cans (no labels) long sticks (at least 1 inch around, washed - no pine).
|
Make dough for drop biscuits from your own collection or from the package instructions. Double it if you have lots of hungry campers.
When dough is ready, take one of the cans (wash thoroughly inside and out, remove label) and spray the outside of it with non-stick cooking spray. Mold the dough around the can's sides and bottom.
Insert stick in open end hold can with dough at least 8 inches away from coals or low fire. Turn as the dough begins to brown. When dough is done baking, insert a butter knife between the dough and can and shake the dough off gently.
You'll have a shaped, edible cup to fill up with chili, stew, etc. The cup is edible, less dishes to wash.
They're also great just buttered for breakfast or at dinner.
PLEASE supervise children when cooking and use potholders, etc. Do not place dough/can directly in flame. A little practice and patience makes this a treat campers of all ages will love!
