Apple Coffee Cake Neil's Grandmother's Jewish Apple Cake |

1/4 lb. butter 1 cup sugar 2 eggs 1 tsp. vanilla 2 cups flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 1 cup sour cream 2 apples - chopped (cored and peeled) 1 pear - chopped (cored and peeled)
Topping: 1/2 cup coarsely chopped nuts 1 cup brown sugar 1 tsp. cinnamon 2 Tbls. butter

Cream butter and sugar. Beat with egg and vanilla.
Combine flour, soda, powder and salt.
Blend batter with flour mixture, fruit and sour cream.
Spread in 13x9x2 pan.
Spread topping.
Bake in 350 degree F. oven for 35 - 45 minutes. DO NOT OVERBAKE.
