Buttercream Icing & Decorating Wedding Cakes

Buttercream for icing
1/2 cup + 2 Tbsp. shortening 1 - 16oz. box powdered sugar 1/8 cup powdered non-dairy creamer (coffee mate) 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. water 1 tsp. Cream Bouquet 2 drops ONLY butter flavoring
Buttercream for decorating
1 1/4 cup shortening 1- 16 oz. powdered sugar 3 tsp. water 1 tsp. clear vanilla extract, or Cream Bouquet 2 drops ONLY butter flavoring 1/16 tsp. salt

For Icing: At low speed, mix sugar, shortening, salt, and non-dairy creamer until smooth.
Gradually add combined water and flavorings at slow speed, then beat at medium speed until smooth, fluffy and at a spreading consistancy. Yield -- 3 3/4 cups
For Decorating: Whip shortening at high speed until smooth.
Add half of the sugar, mix at low speed until blended.
Add water and flavoring until thoroughly blended.
Add remaining sugar, and whip at high speed until blended and fluffy
