Black Walnut Fudge
1 1/2 cups milk
3 cups sugar
4 Tbls. margarine
1/4 cup cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 cup black walnut pieces or chips

 

Mix milk and sugar in large heavy saucepan, use medium heat.

Gradually add cocoa, stir constantly until mixture comes to boil. Reduce to low heat, boil approx 25-30 minutes until mixture forms a soft ball in cold water. Remove from heat.

Add margarine and vanilla, do not stir. Allow to sit undisturbed for 10 minutes.

Add black walnuts, beat fudge until it thickens and starts to set, approx 3-4 minutes.

Pour into margarine-greased 9x13 glass pan.

Allow to set in refrigerator approx. 45 minutes, cut into 48 squares.
