Wedding or Graduation Mints
2 Tbls. butter or margarine
2 Tbls. shortening (Crisco)
2 Tbls. warm water
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. mint flavoring (to taste)
2 or more cups powdered sugar

Mix all together with a mixer. Add 2 cups powdered sugar, continue beating. Add more powdered sugar till the dough is not sticky in your hand.

Make small balls from the dough, roll each ball into white granulated sugar, press into your molds (molds should be dipped into sugar regularly).

Pop the mint out of the mold onto a cookie sheet sprinkled with sugar. Let dry overnight. These can be made ahead of time and frozen. When thawing out, take them out the night before needed, and let dry again.
