Grams Tater Tot Casserole Quick and Easy Family Favorite! |

5 lbs. Browned Ground Beef, drained 2 large sweet onions, chopped and lightly browned (I brown them in the burger grease for added flavor) 2 family-sized cans cream of mushroom soup 1/2 soup can of milk 4 cans peas, drained 10-16 slices American Cheese 2 small bags or 1 family sized bag of tater tots

My grandmother was from Portland Maine, and one of the best cooks I've ever known.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Spray turkey roasting pan with non-stick cooking spray (or better still buy one of the disposable aluminium ones).
Mix soup and milk and add to the following right in the pan: ground beef, onion and peas, salt and pepper to taste, mix well.
Unwrap cheese slices and place a single layer of them atop beef mixture, then top all with single layer of tater tots.
Bake for 45 minutes at 350 degrees F. or until tater tots are nicely browned and cheese is bubbly. Let sit for 10 minutes before serving.
We like this with harvard beets and canned biscuits.
