Mexican Cornbread Casserole

2 lb hamburger 2 cans red kidney beans 1 lg can crushed tomatoes 1 pkg favorite taco seasoning mix
1 recipe favorite cornbread batter
sour cream, for garnish diced tomatoes, for garnish grated cheese, for garnish

Preheat over to 325 degrees F.
In dutch oven, brown hamburger completely, add kidney beans, crushed tomatoes and taco seasoning mix. Simmer for 15 minutes.
While meat mixture is simmering prepare corn bread batter.
Pour meat mixture into a lightly greased 9x13 casserole dish. Pour corn bread batter down the center of the meat mixture. Bake until corn bread is golden.
Serve with garnishes.
This is a dish I created at least 10 years ago and is always a family and potluck favorite.
