Brown Sugar Icebox Cookies

1/2 cup butter or lard 1 cup brown sugar 1 egg 1/2 tsp. baking soda 2 cups flour 1/8 tsp. salt 1 cup nuts, chopped 1 tsp. vanilla
|
Cream butter and sugar.
Add egg and beat well.
Combine baking soda, flour and salt. Add to creamed mixture and stir in nuts and vanilla. Mix thoroughly and roll in waxed paper. Chill in refrigerator.
Slice off as needed and bake for 7 minutes in a 350 degree F. oven.
