Cherry Blossoms Perfectly Sweet Cookie with a Delightful Suprise |

1 cup softened Butter 2/3 cup Sugar 1/2 tsp. Vanilla Extract 1/2 tsp. Almond Extract 1 3/4 cups Flour 3 drops of red food coloring 24 Cherry Hershey's Kisses 1 1/2 cups Powdered Sugar

Cream together; butter, sugar, vanilla and almond.
Add flour and food coloring, mix until pink and creamy.
Chill dough for at least 45 minutes.
Press 1 1/2 tablespoons of dough around each Kiss.
Bake on an ungreased cookie sheet for 9 1/2 minutes at 375 degrees F.
Carefully remove hot cookies from pan and roll in powdered sugar. Let cool on a rack or parchment paper. Store in an airtight container.
Cherry Kisses are sometimes seasonal items, the cookies are also good with regular Kisses.
Try variations: Irish Kisses: use mint extract instead of the almond extract, green instead of red food coloring and plain chocolate kisses.
Double Chocolate Hug: leave out the almond extract and red food coloring, add 1/4 cup cocoa to the dough and use White Chocolate Hugs for the centers.
