Double Double Chocolate Cookies My Grandmother's Recipe! |
|
|
2 1/2 cups all purpose flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1/4 tsp. salt 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder 1 cup dark brown sugar, packed 3/4 cup white sugar 1 cup Creamery Butter, softened 3 large eggs 2 tsp. pure vanilla 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips 3/4 cup Walnuts, broken
|
Preheat oven to 300 degrees F.
In a medium bowl, combine flour, soda, salt and cocoa powder. Mix well with a wire whisk and set aside.
In a large bowl, using an electric mixer, blend sugars at medium speed. Add butter and beat to form a grainey paste. Scrape down sides of bowl.
Add eggs and vanilla and beat at medium speed until fully blended together.
Add flour mixture, chocolate chips and nuts. Beat at low speed until just combined. Do NOT overmix.
Drop dough by rounded Tablespoon, I use a melon scoop, onto an ungreased cookie sheet about 1 1/2 inches apart.
Bake for 18-22 minutes.
Remove from oven and immediately transfer with a spatula to a cool surface. I use wax paper placed on the countertop. You can save the paper to place between cookies, if placed in a cookie jar.
