Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookies Thick and Chewy |
|
|
2 1/8 cups all purpose flour 1/2 tsp. baking soda 3/4 cup butter 1 cup packed brown sugar 1/2 cup granulated sugar 1 large egg 1 egg yolk 2 tsp. vanilla extract 2 cups chocolate chips
|
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
Mix flour and baking soda and set aside.
Melt butter and cool. Then add the sugars, egg, and vanilla and mix until thouroughly blended.
Add flour mixture till combined.
Stir in chips (for a bite of ecstacy, use one cup of chocolate chips and one cup of english toffee chips).
Use spoons to scoop out 1/4 cup amount of dough (do NOT smooth over the dough ball). The lower cooking temp will allow these larger cookies to melt outward before cooking through. Dough can be refrigerated or frozen.
Fill 2 cookie sheets with dough, about 9-12 per sheet.
Put both sheets in preheated oven on upper and lower mid racks.
Swap sheets half way through baking time.
Cook 15-18 minutes and check at about 13 minutes.
Cookies should be light golden brown on the edges with soft puffy centers.
Cool the cookies ON the cookie sheet.
