Sesame Seed Icebox Cookies
Refrigerator Cookies
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 cup butter-room temperature
1 cup granulated sugar
1 egg
1/4 cup sour milk
1/2 cup toasted sesame seeds

 

Combine flour, baking soda and salt.

In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar. Beat in egg and sour milk. Gradually blend in dry ingredients. Stir in sesame seeds.

Divide the dough in half. Form each half into log 1 inch in diameter. Wrap in waxed paper and chill overnight.

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Lightly grease 2 baking sheets.

Cut the logs into 1/4 inch-thick slices and place 1 inch apart on the prepared baking sheets.

Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, until lightly colored. Tranfer to wire rack to cool.
