Banana Pudding, Homemade Real banana pudding, family recipe |
 |
 |
1 C sugar
1/4 C all purpose flour
2 egg yolks
2 1/2 C milk
2 tsp vanilla extract
4-5 ripe bananas, sliced
Box of vanilla wafers
|
In a heavy saucepan, whisk together sugar and flour. Add egg yolks, mix as well as possible. Add milk and whisk together well. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon, until mixture thickens; remove from heat, add vanilla, and stir.
Layer banana slices and vanilla wafers in a casserole dish; pour the cooked pudding over and let soak in. You can add a meringue or Cool Whip, but I usually don't.
