Bread Pudding Old Fashioned Bread Pudding |
|
|
1 Heaping cup of raisins 4 cups milk 1/2 cup butter 8 cups cubed bread l/2 cup sugar 2 tsp. vanilla 2 tsp. cinnamon l/4 tsp. salt 4 eggs - beaten
|
Soak raisins in water about 15 minutes to soften. Drain.
Heat milk and butter
Combine all ingredients in a large bowl. Add milk and butter. Stir gently.
Pour into greased baking pan 9x13 or can be a bit smaller.
Place this pan in a larger pan and put into oven. Pour hot water into the outer pan (this is called a water bath). It is safer to put both pans into the oven rather than put the hot water in first and then carry to the oven!
Bake at 350 degrees F. for 40 minutes.
Serve warm or chilled with milk or whipped cream. Enjoy!
Note: Pudding will be firm for cutting into pieces. This is not a soggy pudding.
