Christmas pears This Luscious Dessert May Be Eaten All Year Round! |

3.3 pounds pears (8 pears) 3 cups water 1.7 cups of sugar Juice of one lemon 1/2 gram of saffron 1/2 tsp. cardamom seeds 1 cinnamon stick 1 piece of dry ginger

Put the marinade in a pot on the stove and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
Peel the pears and put them in the marinade one by one.
Let the pers simmer under a lid until they soften for about 20-30 min. The cooking time varies depending on size and ripeness of the pears.
Take the pears and put them in a glass jar.
Strain the marinade and pour it over in to the glass jar. Also, put in the piece of cinnamon and ginger in the jar.
Leave it to rest for a couple of days. The pears will keep for weeks if stored in fridge.
