Jam Roly Poly Old-Fashioned Pudding from Britain |
 |
 |
1/2 cup butter 2 cups self-rising Flour Cold water Jam (any kind)
Syrup: 1/2 cup sugar 1 Tbls. butter 1 cup boiling water
|
Rub butter into flour until it looks like breadcrumbs. Add enough cold water to make a fairly firm dough. Pat or roll out and spread with jam.
Roll up like a Swiss roll and place in an ovenproof dish.
Make a syrup of the sugar, butter and boiling water.
Pour over the roll and bake in a fairly hot oven for 30 minutes.
A very handy standby for hungry kids.
