Royal Mazurkas |

1 cup butter or margarine (room temperature) 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 1 cup sugar 1/4 teaspoon salt 6 egg yolks 1/4 cup ground or finely chopped, blanched almonds 1 teaspoon grated orange or lemon peel (optional)

1. Cream butter until fluffy in a large mixing bowl. 2. Mix flour, sugar, and salt. 3. Alternately beat in 1 egg yolk and a sixth of flour mixture. Continue until all ingredients are well combined. Stir in almonds and orange peel. Mix well. 4. Roll or pat dough to fit a greased 15x10x1-inch jelly-roll pan. 5. Bake at 325F 35 to 40 minutes, or until golden but not browned. 6. Cool in pan on rack 10 minutes. Cut in fourths. Remove from pan. Cool on rack.
