Strudel Crumble Hot Dessert |

Crumble: 1 lb. Flour (any) 1 lb. Butter 1 lb. Sugar 1 cup demerara sugar
Filling: 4 lb. Stewed Apples 1 cup mixed peel 1 tin syrup 1 Tbls. cinnamon 1 cup sultanas or raisins 1 cup demerara sugar

For the crumble: Place all the ingredients (except the demerara sugar)into a good size mixer and beat until it looks like a finely crushed biscuits.
For the fill: In a good sized baking tray (with sides)place the apples, sprinkle with all the other filling ingredients and mix well by hand. Sprinkle the crumble mix liberally over the top, and to finish sprinkle over the remaining cup of demerara sugar. Bake in a moderate oven for 30 minutes until golden brown.
Serve immediately with freshly made custard.
