Rice
Steamed Rice Cajun-Style
Long grain rice Preferred
any will cook the same, including brown or yellow rice.
salt
water

There are two surefire ways to cook rice, Steamed, or microwave.
Here are both.

Steamed
1 to 2 ratio
i.e. 1 cup rice to 2 cups water.
1 teaspoon salt
Place rice in a large enough pot to boil, add salt with water, bring to rolling boil. Continue with cooking until water is just bubbling throuth grains of rice, lower fire to low and cover, steam until tender. (you can check with a fork if rice is done through it is done.) Remove from heat, remove lid, let stand until firm, yet warm.
Microwaved.
Same recipe as above, 1 cup rice to two cups water, except add 1 tsp. salt, 1 Tbls. butter, place in microwave proof dish, cook on high for 20 minutes or until fluffy and soft through out.(microwaves vary in power)

Note: for you , wanna wash the rice first folks, do so if you wish, but remember that it tastes the best with the ground powder still present.
Bon appetite!
