1 lb. ground beef
1/2 lb.sweet italian sausage
1 large can tomato sauce
1 large can tomatoes
1 medium onion (chopped)
1 medium greenpepper (chopped)
1 small package mushrooms (chopped)
1 large can light red kidney beans (drained)
1 tbls. chili powder
1 tbls. onion powder
1 tsp. minced garlic
1 tsp. seasoning salt
1/2 lb. cooked steak (optional)
1 tsp. margarine
1 tsp. crushed red pepper (optional)

brown meats in fry pan with a little margarine;meanwhile mix remaining ingredients into crock pot;add cooked meat (do not drain meat)mix well & cook all day on low heat.(about 10 hrs)I usually start on high heat then turn it down when it begins to simmer.
