Apple Crumb Pie

4 large granny smith apples 1 cup sugar 3/4 cup flour 1 tsp. cinnamon couple shakes nutmeg 1/3 cup stick margarine

Pare apples and slice thinly.
Combine 1/2 cup sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg, mix thoroughly and pour over apples. Mix until well-coated. Let stand a few minutes.
Combine remaining sugar and flour in small mixing bowl. Cut butter into tiny cubes, mix with sugar-flour mixture. Mix with hands until forms fine crumbs.
Pour apples into prepared unbaked pastry in 9-inch pie plate. Top with crumb mixture.
Bake 40-50 minutes in a 400 degree F. oven. Cover loosely with piece of aluminum foil during first 25 minutes of baking so crust will not burn.
Cool until set, serve warm with vanilla ice cream!
