Sweet and Sour Pork
Japanese Style!
1/2 lb pork (Cut pork into 1/2 inch chunks)
1 Tbls. Sake
1 Tbls. soy sauce
4 Tbls. cornstarch
1 med. onion
3.5 oz carrot (cut into bite size pieces)
1 med. green pepper
4 med. strawberries (cut in halves)
2 Tbls. vegetable oil

Sauce-
1 cup water
3 Tbls. sugar
3 Tbls. soy sauce
3 1/2 Tbls. ketchup
3 Tbls. vinegar
1 1/2 Tbls. cornstarch

 

1. In a bowl, combine and mix pork, sake, soy sauce, and cornstarch. In a deep frying pan, heat oil to 170 deg. C and deep fry pork for 4 minutes or until golden brown.

2. Peel carrots and cut into 1 inch length. Then cut carrot pieces in halves length wise. Also, cut strawberries in halves.

3. Mix all the ingredients under sauce together. Set aside. In a wok or frying pan, heat 2 Tbls. of oil. Cook onion and green pepper for 2-3 minutes. Then add carrots and cook for another 2-3 minutes.

4. Add deep fried pork to vegetables and cook for 1-2 min. to heat up the pork. Then add the sauce mixture and bring to boil. Last, add strawberries; mix and serve. (Note: do not over cook vegetables or it will be too soft).
