Italian Fat-Free Dressing
1 1/3 cups water
1 1/2 Tbls. sugar
2 tsp. cornstarch
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. dried minced onion
1/2 tsp. dried minced garlic
1/2 tsp. finely minced red bell pepper
1/2 tsp. Italian seasoning
1/4 tsp. gelatin
1/2 cup white vinegar
1 tsp. dry nonfat buttermilk

 

Combine water, sugar, cornstarch, salt, garlic, onion, bell pepper, Italian seasoning, gelatin in saucepan. Whisk to dissolve cornstarch.

Put pan over medium heat and
when mixture begins to boil, cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Remove from heat.

Add vinegar and dry buttermilk, whisk well.

Transfer to a covered container and refrigerate preferably overnight before serving.

Preparation Time: 15 minutes Serves: 1 1/2 cups
