Beer BBQ Sauce
1 12oz. bottle beer (I use Samuel Adams Lager) 1/2 cup sugar salt and pepper, to taste 2 Tbls. yellow mustard 3 Tbls. ketchup 1/2 tsp. dried thyme 1 tsp. honey
Pour beer into saucepan and bring to a slow simmer. Add remaining ingredients and whisk to blend. Turn up stove temperature and allow to come to a rolling boil (medium heat should do this fine).
Let boil for 3-5 minutes, then reduce temperature and let simmer and reduce for 10-15 minutes.
Use as a glaze on your favorite grilled or BBQ'ed meats. Works well on ribs.
Yield = 1 cup of sauce
