Homemade Thick Spaghetti Sauce

1/2 cup salad oil 4 onions, chopped fine 4 garlic cloves, minced 16 lbs. tomatoes, peeled and diced 1/4 cup sugar 2 Tbls. parsley flakes or 1/4 cup chopped parsley 2 Tbls. oregano leaves 2 Tbls. salt 2 tsp. basil leaves 3/4 tsp. pepper 2 bay leaves 2 12oz. cans tomato paste

Mix all together in a large pot except the tomato paste.
Slowly bring the ingredients to a boil. Be careful not to burn the bottom, stir often.
Simmer for 3-4 hours, boiling the entire time to reduce the amount of liquid.
The last half hour, add the tomato paste and keep simmering.
Hot water bath pint jars for 35 minutes and quart jars for 45 minutes.
