Gourmet Beef Stew
An Old Family Favorite!
3 lbs. lean chuck roast
3 lg. carrots, sliced
1 #2 can small boiled onions - drained
1 #2 can tomatoes and juice
1 #2 can tiny peas - drained or frozen
1 lg. can whole mushrooms - drained or fresh
1/2 cup beef consume soup
1/2 cup white wine
4 Tbsp. minute tapioca
1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
1 bay leaf
1 1/2 Tbsp. salt; pepper to taste
(Optional: celery, potatoes)

 

Heat oven to 250F. Place all ingredients in Dutch oven, cover and cook 6-7 hours, or place in crockpot and cook 8 hours. Serve over seasoned rice.
