|
|
2 lbs. hamburger 1 green pepper 1 onion McCormick Grill Mates Spicy Montreal Steak Seasoning 1 pkg. Carroll Shelbys Original Texas Brand Chili Kit 1 can Beef Broth 2 cans Red Kidney Beans 1 can Tomato sauce 1 can tomato soup 1 can Old El Paso Enchilada Sauce (secret ingredient) 1 can diced tomatoes
|
In a large soup kettle, combine Beef Broth, Kidney Beans, Tomato Sauce, Tomato Soup, Enchilada Sauce, and Diced Tomatoes.
From the Chili Kit, add the Chili Pepper, Cayenne Pepper (to taste, I use all of it)), and salt (to taste, I use about half of it)(I do not use the Masa Flour).
Mix all these ingredients well, and place on a medium to low heat burner.
Cut and dice the onions and green pepper. Sprinkle generously with Steak Seasoning. Combine in a bowl with a little water and microwave for five minutes. Add to the chili mixture on the stove.
In a large pan, brown the hamburger. Drain any excess liquid. Add to the chili mixture. Stir well.
Let chili simmer for about one hour on low heat, stir occasionally.
Serve in bowls, garnish with shredded cheddar cheese and bacon bits if desired.
