|
|
2 Pounds of regular hamburger
1/2 white onion diced or sliced
3 cloves of grated garlic
(EVOO) Extra Virgin Olive Oil (about 1/8 of a cup in total)
1 tbsp of butter
1 fresh diced vine tomato
2 regular size cans of fire roasted diced tomatoes, Or 1 large can of regular stewed diced tomatoes (Juice and all)
3 stocks of celery chopped / sliced
2 chopped carrots (decent size)
1/4 cup of barley
1/4 cup of ketchup (yes it's important)
1.5 gell packs of beef stock Kron brand,(not boullion cube)
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. basil
2 full bay leafs (not crumbled)
pepper to your taste
Dash of worcestershire sauce
Dash of pepper flakes to your taste (this will make it spicy)
3 diced potatos (of decent size)
4 cups of hot water
|
Use large pot. Cook hamburger first with a dash of olive oil, do not drain the hamburger off when cooked. Once hamburger is browned add the celery, onion, and garlic and let this cook for just a couple of minutes. Then add everything else in no spacific order. Be sure not to drain the juice off the canned tomatoes. The Kronn beef gell packs are best added after being mashed with a fork in one of the cups of hot water being added to the soup. Let this all simmer on the stove at about the number 3 setting on your stove for at least 1 hour before serving. Do not cook for more than 1 hour 15 minutes or your vegies will loose their texture.
Enjoy.
