Indian Beef Stew-Do Piaz
Do piaz translates to 2 onions'
2 onions, chopped
2 cloves garlic, chopped
1 inch (2.5 cm) ginger, chopped
1 Tbls. fresh coriander leaves, chopped
4 tsp. paprika powder
1 tsp. chili powder
3 tsp. ground cumin
3 Tbls. ground coriander
5 cardamom pods
1 tsp. salt
5 oz (150 gr)(1 little pot) yogurt
7 oz (220gr) tender topside beef, cut in 1 inch (2.5 cm) cubes
oil to fry

 

Put one onion, garlic, ginger, paprika, chili powder, cumin, coriander, yogurt and salt in the food-processor. Process until mixture is smooth.

Heat oil in a large pan. Fry the remaining onion until just soft.

Add the meat and fry until it is well coated and starts to brown.

Add cardamom pods and yogurt mixture

If you use a crock pot, put all in the crock pot now.

Simmer, covered, for 1 hour or until the meat is tender.

Garnish with fresh coriander.
