Fried Cabbage, Country Style Down Home and Filling! |

1/2 lb. bacon, chopped 1 med. cabbage head, chopped 1/2 green pepper, chopped 1/2 med. onion, chopped 3 Tbls. butter or margarine 3-4 Fresh mushrooms, sliced 1 cup chopped celery salt and pepper, to taste

In a deep skillet fry bacon pieces until crisp. Toss in the rest of the ingredients and add 1/2 cup of water. Bring to a soft boil and cut the heat back to medium. Cover and allow to simmer for about 30 minutes while ocassionally stirring. Add more time if you like your veggies cooked softer or less for crisper. Options: Adobe, Badia, or other spices can be added to suit your personal taste.
Great as a side dish or served with buttered cornbread muffins.
