Jansson's Temptation Traditional Swedish Side Dish |

1 yellow onion 1 Tbls. butter 8-10 middle sized potatoes, approximately 3/4 Kg 1 can (100g) of tinned sprats fillets or sardines. 0.8 cups of whipping cream 0.4 cups of milk 2 Tbls. of dried breadcrumbs
|
Set the oven at 400 degrees F. Peel and cut the onion into thin slices. Fry it with butter in a pan.
Peel the potatoes and cut them into thin slices.
Grease an oven-proof dish. Put a layer of potatoes at the bottom of the dish, then a layer of onion and on top of that the tinned sprats fillets or the sardines. Put the rest of the sliced potatoes on top.
You could pour some tinned sprats fillet liquid over the dish.
Pour whipping cream and milk on top of dish and then sprinkle the dried breadcrumbs.
Bake it in the lower part of the oven for 45-50 minutes.
