Mama's Fried Cabbage Cabbage with a kick |

2 Medium Heads of Cabbage Crushed Red Pepper Paprika Sea Salt 2 Shallots Fresh Green Pepper 2 Strips of Pepper Bacon Black Pepper Corns Butter EVOO
|
1.Clean the cabbage under cool water and pat dry 2. Remove tough outer leaves and place them in boiling water with 1 tbsp of butter. 3. Place two strips of the pepper bacon in a skillet and cook until crisp.Once the bacon is cooked removed bacon from the skillet and place on a paper towel to drain. Leave the bacon fat in the skillet. 4. Dice the shallots, 5. Cut Green Pepper 6. Cut the cabbage into strips 7. Place the Shallots, Bell Pepper and Cabbage in to the same skillet where you cooked the bacon. (Turn Head to Medium) 8. Remove the large outer leaves from the hot water and cut and place into the skillet. 9. Crumble the bacon and place over the other ingredients in the skillet. 10. Add seasoning: 1 tsp Sea Salt, 1 tsp Crushed Red Pepper, 1/2 tsp Paprika , Fresh Ground Balck Pepper. 11. Add 1/4 tsp EVOO 12. Cover and let cook down 13.Serve as a side dish with BBQ Ribs, Fried Chicken or Pork Chops and Hot Buttered Corn Bread.
