Boston Bakes Beans
1 can vegetarian baked beans 1/4 cup chopped bell peppers 1/3 cup chopped onions 2 T brown sugar 1/4 T salt Water if sauce too thick.
Stir all ingredients together in an oven-proof dish. Bake at 350 degrees until onions and peppers are done to your preference--about 30 minutes. Add water to thin sauce if you wish.
Note: Ketchup is a good addition to baked beans but the brand of vegetarian beans I used (Krogers) had enough tomato taste without ketchup.
